preventing bad breath (Halitosis)

Bad breath is common among people, it's not that we don't take care of our mouth but it is a situation that can happen to anyone and can even cause embarrassment.



Factors that can cause bad breath
Particles of food can cause bad breath, it gives space for bacterias to breed in the mouth. Smoking is another reason that can cause bad breath. Smokers and oral tobacco users are more likely to have gum disease. Not brushing your teeth and flossing instead. Some uses dental floss and not using tooth brush which may cause mouth odor. Dirty tongue is another factor that can cause bad breath. Dry mouth can also cause Halitosis, the saliva cleans the mouth by removing things that can cause unpleasant odour. So, if for any reason mouth lacks saliva, it might cause bad breath.
  Not talking for long, if you don't talk for a long time it can cause bad breath. Chewing of onions, garlic,nuts etc can also cause bad breath.
Other factors/causes may include mouth infection such as decay, sores and gum disease. Serious inflammation in the throat, nose and sinuses etc.

        How to prevent bad breath
1. Brush your teeth with a fluoridated tooth paste and a tooth brush after every meal, at least twice a day.
2. Brush your tongue always
3. Drink plenty of water to prevent dry mouth 
4. stop smoking and the use of tobacco products
5. Rinse your mouth after eating to remove particles stock in the teeth.
